Ok so here we go again. SOOOOOO much has happened in the past 2-3 weeks, I just have to get you caught up!!!! I am now a proud mom of 2 graduates :D One from preschool and the other from 5th grade. Both ceremonies were very sweet, and I can honestly say I did not shed any tears. I know this has to be the first for me!!! I'm just so proud of how much both have accomplished and I am excited to see where they go from here. I cant thank the teachers enough for all they have done for my kids. They have both had the best teachers a mom could ask for!!! Ok ok, so now on to the pictures cause I know you are all just shaking with anticipation :D
Ok we will start with Greysens game where Bill was the fill in coach. Bill seemed to like it pretty well and he even got many compliments for his job well done :D I think it helped draw him in to coach Greysens team next season :D I think that would be tons of fun!!!! plus he would do a great job!!
Then moving onto graduation. Greysen isn't so sure about standing in the hallway with his classmates. He would rather be next to me, go figure!!! But I got him to stand there to take a picture, ha ha.
Front and well to the side, not really center. He is ready for the ceremony to begin!!!!! He was cute, he kept looking over at us and giving us a smile.
See, a smile!!
Here he is being awarded his diploma. Don't they look so scholarly? I wonder if that is how you spell it. Melissa is the Director of Children's Lighthouse, she is the one handing him his "diploma." And Ms. Cindy is his teacher in the floral shirt.
Yup, that's him getting some love from his teacher :D
Now its time for their individual awards. He got the best reader award!!!! I'm so proud of him :D
And here he is with his favorite teacher of all time!!! Oh I forgot to add a picture of him crying in the background before the whole ceremony was over. The kids all got up to do the Chicken Dance at the very end and I am guessing he thought that was just too much public humiliation for him and he decided crying with his teacher was a better choice. Well we got him to stop crying long enough to take a picture with Mrs. Cindy while they were all dressed up.
The next day at school they got to go on their very first field trip in the school bus!!! It was an amazing time and when they got back he was all smiles!!! Much easier to take pictures with teachers and friends when we are smiling. So here he is with Ms. Denise his other teacher. She is pretty fantastic too!!!
And now he is all smiles with Mrs. Cindy.
This is one of his best friends Katelynn. Sadly enough he will not get to see her anymore as they are both going to different schools!!! But it was a fabulous friendship while it lasted :D
Ok so now back to some sports. This is the last game of the season. We are very sad to see it end seeing as Greysen had a fabulous time!!!! This was his first time up to bat, he did a very good job!!!
Now the second time up to bat was a better hit, unfortunately he hit it so well the kid on the receiving end forgot to catch the ball with his glove so his face had to do the job for him. I felt soooo bad!!! Greysen was a good sport though and went up to the kid to make sure he was ok. Thankfully he was able to continue the game!!!
After the last game the team went to Bigz Backyard BBQ, or something of the sort. And they got their trophies and medals. This is Coach Steve handing Greysen his Babe Ruth award for being a big hitter!!!
Yes he is a little silly :) but that makes him fun!!
OK OK I know too much Greysen!!! Well now its Jacobs turn for the spotlight, and well he deserves the spotlight. I am so proud of his achievements this year!!! And look at this he is wearing dress up clothes!!!! He wouldn't just wear khakis and a polo, he had to wear something nicer. He really wanted a tie but it just didn't work. So here he is with the other 250ish kids walking into the cafeteria for graduation.
This is Jacob accepting his awards, yes I said awards!!! In fact he got 4 certificates!! He totally needs to start his wall of fame!!! He was awarded a Presidents Award for academic excellence, in which he also received a letter from the President. He was awarded all A's for maintaining straight A's all year. As well as all E's which means Excellence in Conduct. Then of course his certificate of completion of 5th grade!!!
At the very end of the ceremony the kids all sang a goodbye song. Not sure how many actually sang it but here is a picture of J at the very back :)
I tried to get a picture of J all dressed up, but it was rather crowded. So this is the best I could get.
And here he is trying to hold all his awards.
So as you can see its been a very busy but incredibly fulfilling 2-3 weeks. I am so proud of all their accomplishments, I just cant wait to see what there is to come!!! Jacob is super excited to begin middle school, well that is after summer of course. And Greysen is excited to become a Kindergartner (but staying at his current school) I think the next school year to come will be very excited for both of them!!!
Now onto summer. Man I plan to keep us very busy seeing as Greysen is staying home with me this summer!!! So there should be many many many pictures to come in the following weeks. I may not get to a weekly blog but once every few weeks might be better then nothing!!!
Hope everyone enjoys their summer!!!!!!
