So this week was quite busy, but I cant say there was all that much excitement, well you know not the same kind of excitement that we have been having. Its been more of a relaxed type of excitement, which is so so so much better!!!
First we woke up Monday morning to start our week, and it was a good start!!! Here is how I found Greysen when I went in to wake him up. He looked so cozy, and super out of it!!
So Monday was a beautiful day and what do the boys want to do??? SCOOTER, but indoors? Ya here is them scootering around the house. You would have thought there was a race going on, but hey at least they were getting along for oh about 5 minutes. Could be a record!!
But before Monday is over. I thought it would make you feel good to know Blu still sleeps the same crazy way, and I didnt want you to forget!!! This is before I took him to the vet to get super shiney teeth and his boy bits chopped :)
Well so then Grandma B was supposed to arrive Tuesday at 11, however mother nature had other plans and decided to snow her in under 8 inches of snow. Luckily she was able to get out and get to the airport to make a much later flight. But at least she made it safe and soundly, and the boys are very excited to have her here. Here is the first bit of excitement they had after school on Wednesday:
BLOWING BUBBLES!!! I never knew blowing bubbles entailed so much laughter but it does :)
Then comes Thursday and the 81st birthday for Boy Scouts. So I made a dessert, which was chocolate cookies with peanut butter chips, oh man were they good. Man that recipe made so much I had enough to take to the gym for the staff and some to the Scout party. Oh wait I dont have a picture of that one, but here is G making some brownies for a bbq with Jacobs friend, Norman and his family. They were really good too.
Before anyone could go anywhere, we had to take a nap. My goal really was to get G to take a nap but somehow I fell asleep and the kind Gma B that is helping us out helped us take a picture of me sleeping with my boys, well 2 out of the 3 of them. G did finally fall asleep so mission accomplished!!
So we headed over to the Ellis' house on Saturday afternoon for a bbq. G was a little shy at first but soon warmed up to Amanda and they played all evening. Here are a few action shots from the backyard playground:
Sunday I spent quality time with each child. J and I went to Walmart, and Target so he could buy a new DS game, and then I made him go shopping for some new clothes. It was a successful trip. Then I came home to get G ready for his friends birthday party at PUMP IT UP!!!!! The ultimate jumpy house place. While I had each child Gma B got to play so many games she almost exploded. And around 7pm when asked by G if she wanted to play a game with him, the answer was NO!!! There is only so many games one poor gma can play in a day. Here are some pics from the bday party:
Well I can finally say nothing BAD happend at the Berg household for once!!!! Its a miracle!!!! But im guessing its just cause Gma B is here and things only happen when im here alone.
We hope you have enjoyed our week in review. We also hope you have a great week ahead! Im sure it will be nice to get settled in your permanent housing and into a normal routine. We love you tons, and miss you just about the same. Stay safe!!!

Week 4 - in and out with a BANG!!!
So much for the week going according to plan, which was simple. NORMALCY!!!! However everyone believes I am not normal so why should life??? Ok so so here it is, THE VALENTINES DAY GIFT!!!
I know I know not what you were thinking. But hey guess what we started the week off with the water heater breaking :) Thanks to Jacob, who I sent down to put trash in the bin, for noticing the huge amounts of water on the garage floor. So after a whole night of crying and oh wait first the next Valentines treat which is:
That's right, a heart shaped pizza from Papa Johns :)
Then after more and more crying, and giving up I got the new water heater on Monday. But the real Valentines treat I got was:
These are the pretty flowers which were delivered to me for Valentines day!!! And believe it or not, the star gazer lilies are still blooming, so its like never ending, which is fine by me :) I also got the most amazing card. SO really I cant complain.
And then get this!!!!!!
That's right your not seeing things. Those are actual Jolly Rancher sticks!!!!! I have loved these for all my life and Lynn was the best ever and sent these to me :) I cant thank her enough, I think this was soooo needed!!! I called them my life raft, they keep me afloat when I feel as if I'm drowning.
Anyways, after Monday the week was going well, you know the usual stuff of work and making dinner with my buddy. Here are some pics of him helping:
First is spaghetti!!!
Why not try out the noodles first? yes he loves to eat hard noodles :) And Jacob thought he would help out too, all he did was hold the box.
And now for fajitas :)
Then on our way home from work on Friday we were trying to beat the pizza man who ended up pulling up right after us. So that was good timing. But Greysen had a conversation with the guy about the moon (which was sooooo huge and awesome!!!!) so I wanted to take a picture of it. However I forgot, I was too hungry to remember such things. So when I remembered, this is what the moon looked like.
Ya not as impressive!!
Ok so here we go, Saturday afternoon. I thought I was doing good!! I decided to clean the house, however the boys had a different plan. So all of a sudden I heard a huge thump. Ya that was G's head hitting the tile floor!!! Huge knot on the back on his head. So I told him to sit on the couch and I called mom. Ya only about 15 min later he was asleep. So I'm thinking that isn't good. so time to call dad. He told me to take him to the ER right away!!!!! So with the nice steaks sitting ready to be cooked on the counter, we all packed into the truck and to the hospital we were bound. So the time is 530 pm, we checked in and sat down with all the hundreds of sick and hurt kids. Oh maybe around 700pm we got called back, thinking we were going to see a doctor they just took his vitals and put on our hospital bracelets and sent us back out to sit with all those sick and hurt kids. Mostly sick by the way except for the boy who arrived after us with a hurt finger, which was slammed in a door. So then around 830ish the boy, who arrived after us, with the hurt finger, was called in to see the doctor. Ya the finger before the head. I was a little mad but thought for sure we were going to be called back soon. So around 900ish no one had been called back since. So I went to the window and asked how much longer. Only to be told one other was in front of us, the only other one in front of us was a kid with a fever who ran around screaming and having fun the whole time we were there. So that means a fever before a head injury. So I got my pissy mommy pants on and told them we were leaving and would never return to such a disorganized hospital whose priorities were completely messed up!!!!
But anyways while we were sitting there G let me take a picture of his poor little head, here it is:
So that was the excitement and the BIG BANG to the end of the week!!!!! Anyhow after we went home (after getting Wendy's for dinner) he was fine!!! Just a bump, or rather large bump, but he is just as feisty as ever!!!!
OH but we cant forget Sunday, the day that marks our 4 weeks. It was spent cleaning the house, geocaching with Jacob's Den, eating a nice quiet steak dinner with Jacob (G was sleeping) and then playing "Which Came First the Chicken or the Egg?" with both boys. G actually can guess pretty well. He almost won, but I am so much smarter and won both rounds. Here are some pics of Geocaching. Oh and if you don't know what that is. Its where you get coordinates of several different "treasures" which others have hidden. This park we went to had many but we just looked for 4. The boys were so good they found all 4. And some were pretty hard. I am quite surprised that they were found. But it was very fun.
Learning how to read a map and using a compass
Greysen collecting rocks for his backpack
Off we go to find the first treasure.
Searching for the first one using the handy GPS:
Its been found!!!
Jacob using the GPS to find the next treasure. Each took a turn to find a treasure.
that one has been found!!! This one was very tricky. Very camouflage!!! It looked like a leaf on the tree. Good thing there were not any other leaves on the tree!!
So ya, G thinks he is a master photographer and this is his shot of "nature"
So 4 treasures found, and the prickles of stickers all over G's body, we found our way back to the car and home we went. It was an enjoyable day. I hope someday we can do it again and maybe G will find it in his heart to walk most of the way!!!
Well onto week 5. I will be so sad to not talk to you every night before bed. It will be hard to go to sleep not hearing your voice, and knowing what is going on in your life. I hope your travels were safe and if you are reading this that means you made it safely and soon we will be hearing from you. We love you with all our heart, and think about you every day. Especially G who loves you more then me :)

Rodeo, Poop, and Flowers..... what could be better?? - Week 3
Wow I told you, it would be an eventful week. Just wait until you hear and see about all the happenings this week. Well it all started out with a nice peaceful Monday. All kids back to school. And yoga bound was I. Its a great way to start the week :) Followed by my weekly visit to the grocery store, ya not so eventful but just wait it gets better.
First of all I have a new assistant chef. He goes by the name of G. Here is the little chef at work.
Not only does he cook but he serves as well.
I also worked on some craftiness before Valentines day. Only approximately 225 red felt circles were needed for this craft. And thanks to Heidi for the idea, if it was not for you my hand would not be numb from cutting so many circles. But it turned out beautiful and I am very happy with the results :)
Ok before I go any farther I must first show you what all has happend within the household since the man of the house has been gone. Of course it all happens when the handiman is away.
1. Greysens window breaks
2. Then the dryer acted up
however when the serviceman came, it was fine. Ya I was slightly embarrassed!!!!
3. Then the severe winds we had did a number on our new gazebo door.
A huge thanks to dad who fixed it right up. Also for being so inventive on the tools as some odd things were used to build this handy little deck/gazebo.
Ok now back to life. Wednesday brought another fever to Jacob and a really really bad cold. So why not use the day to build a rollercoaster. I kind of feel like I have been a huge rollercoaster the past 3 weeks and its not letting me off!!!! But here is the final product:
We then get to celebrate Valentine's day and the Rodeo at Greysens school. The whole school puts on a little parade. Each child was supposedly dressed up like a cowboy/cowgirl however Greysen objected to the rediculous outfit. I was told he would not wear his hat or his chaps. Guess he is to much of a city slicker to go through such lengths to look like a cowboy. So this is what he wore:
Then they got to go inside and open their Valentine boxes and eat lots of yummy treats. I think Greysen ate all the lollipops in his box within 5 minutes!!!!! Here are some pics of the festivities:
Greysen and his friend Julian
Greysen and his teacher Ms. Tiffany
Then the big event of the week..... the RODEO with Grandpa!!!! YEE HAWWWW we had a good time!!!
First we had to stop by the petting zoo.
Im kind of thinking Greysen is checking out the poor goats butt. But that is so typical of that kid!!!
Then a cool lights show before the main event:
Along with fireworks that didnt even scare Greysen, I was in total shock!!!!
Then the flag stuff
Then come to find out its military night and so they swore in the new enlisted people. Pretty neat to see. And they also had someone from each branch of the military there and to represent the Navy was Bill's boss. I thought that was pretty cool!!!
Then onto the show. First was the bucking bronco's, im not sure what you call that. Bronco riding???
Then time for falling off your horse to wrestle a calf
Then time to have kids ride on a sheep, Muttin bustin I believe. A 7 year old won, and a 4 year old came in 2nd. Can you believe it!!
Then its time to team up on a little calf and rope its neck and back feet. Yes the calf is sad im sure!!! I mean I was :(
Then some people come out with their buggy and horses and make figure 8's and try to skid on the turns, ya soooooo exciting!!!
Now this is some other kind of bronco riding. But its a cool picture. I think these ones have saddles on.
Then you let loose all these people with calves and you have to put a rope around it and guide it to the square, or you can drag it by its tail. Whichever way works.
Then you can get all the men excited in the stadium with barrel racing. Jacob was excited it was time for the GIRLS!!!!!
Greysens favorite was the rodeo clown, he even tried to re-enact him several times.
And last but not least the bull riding. Im still shocked how those guys do it and the man dressed in red should thank his lucky stars he did not get attacked by one of these beasts, at least not this night.
All in all it was a great night. The boys enjoyed it very much. Greysen had me cover his ears pretty much the whole night as it was TOOOOO LOUD!!!!!!!! But by the bull riding he was into it and not covering his ears. Even the nice lady next to me said my kids were very well behaved. Im glad I have all these people fooled!!!! We made it home and all went to bed!!!!
Oh and not to forget the wonderful news of the week.
1. Greysen went poop on the toilet. I know I know that is kind of sick good news, but its a big deal. I only hoped he would continue, however he has not done it again since. But hey its a start!!!!
2. I opened the door to beautiful flowers from the best guy ever. No not the flower delivery guy. BILL!!!! Not only did he give me beautiful flowers but a beautiful card as well. Bill you are truely my number one love and my best friend. Thank you soooooo much!!!!
It was a great week!!! I hope you are doing well!!! I look forward to hearing from you every day and I cant wait to see you again even if it is on Skype. Stay safe and the boys and I love you!!!!!
