EEEEKS a little behind..... soccer and Easter!!!!

Sorry I got a little behind, I even promised, I think, that I would keep up with this.  Well since I am sitting at home while the construction starts on the back wall of the house, I might as well get caught up. OOH I should go take a before shot of the wall so I can take an after shot when they are done!!!  Hold on two minutes!!  Ok here is the before picture of the living room (great room)

So the end result will be minus the door and window and it will be turned into one large sliding glass door.  That way you will be able to see the pool :D

Ok so back to where I was.  So the past 2 weeks were full of Spring Break, Easter and soccer games.  Since it was spring break I planned to take the boys to the Blue Angels practice but man was it ever cold!!!  Jacob and I sat out back and watched them fly over head instead.  Greysen slept :D

Here they are flying right over the house.

Blu was watching as well.  He loves to see them fly overhead.

Then the weather was getting a little better so I took the boys out to Fort Barrancas and took some pictures.  It was just a little too bright for them, so there were lots of squints!!!

Then the weekend brought Easter.    The first festivity was the Easter egg hunt at Perdido Kids Park.  This park is pretty much taken care of by the local Kiwanis club.  Jacob is in the middle school version called Builders Club.  The students go to certain activities in the area and help out the Kiwanis club.  So this was Jacobs chance to hide the Easter eggs.  As you can see he is in his orange Builders Club shirt hard at work.

Then it was Greysens turn, along with about 100 other kids to find the eggs.  They had the park sectioned off into 3 categories 1-3 year olds, 4-5 year olds, and 6-7 year olds. The older kids the parents didn't go with so of course Greysen was a little hesitant.  Well being hesitant doesn't get you many eggs.  So he got maybe 10 or so.  But he did find some and ended up having fun.  Oh and he ate allllll the candy from the time his soccer game was over to the time we got home.  In about 10 minutes tops.

He wasn't even afraid of the Easter Bunny!!!  He knew though it wasnt the "real" Easter bunny, just a man.

Then it was time for Jacob soccer game, yes right after the egg hunt.  So here he is!  They did pretty good.  I think they might have won, but it was awhile ago and so I already forgot.  That's what happens these days, I don't remember much.

Then we have Greysens game!!!  We are almost done for the day.  And wow it was exhausting.  Oh and this day Greysen decided he would play more defense then offense.  Funny thing is they don't play defense at this age.  His coach had to keep telling him to not stand in front of the goal.  Needless to say, they didn't score much, and Greysen tried his best being a defensive player.  Once he makes up his mind that is what he is focused on.

He has good ball control though!!!!

And he has good throw ins.  Its funny, he wants to do everything, throw ins, goal kicks, corner kicks, you name it he wants to do it.  But unfortunately he has to share those responsibilities, which he does.
So now its Easter Day.  I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the baskets before they were completely devoured by the kids, but here is Greysen searching for eggs out back.  I think the Easter bunny miscounted because Jacob had one less then Greysen.  That silly bunny, that shows him what happens when he prepares stuff at about 1130pm :D

Now we have the next weekend of games.  Greysens was an 8am game.  So only he and I went.  He decided it was time to be offense again.  He controlled the ball like a champ.  Made 7 goals!!!!  that is the total number of goals they had too :D  But we are not keeping score right.  He did so well, I was completely surprised seeing as he normally doesn't wake up on weekends until around 10.

Here he is taking on 3 other kids!!!

YEAH a corner kick.  He loves to do those!!!

Now on to Jacobs game.  I was not there because I had to take Greysen to a birthday party, but here are some shots Bill got.  Oh wait, really only one good shot :D  ha ha maybe next weekend.

So as you can see we have been busy little bee's!!!  Through all the fun with the boys sports and activities we have managed to paint almost the entire house.  We only have the master bedroom, the laundry room, and the closets in the bedrooms.  When the doors are finished being installed we will have some touching up to do in the bathroom and great room then it will be all done.  Then I can actually blog the finished product!!!!  My favorite room right now is my bathroom.  I know silly huh, but its true.  I love the color!!!

Also with all the improvements on the house we have my parents arriving in a few days, a Nascar race to attend, and then Bill's mom will come enjoy a month and a half with us.  Hopefully she will get to cannon ball into the pool :D

One other thing before I close.  Bill lost his grandmother Sunday morning.  It is sad as she was one of the cutest grandma's I've ever seen!!! I loved her cute German accent.  She was a lovely lady.  She will be missed by many, but will never be forgotten!!!

Ok so I believe that is it!!!  Till next week hopefully!!  If not then, I will get back to it soon I promise :D

First soccer game of 2013!!!!

So here we are again.  Yes its only been forever since I blogged, but now I have something to blog about!!!

The first soccer game of 2013!!   I know its just another year of soccer but this one is different.  We have known for a long time now that Greysen has some sick talent for sports that include a ball.  Well for other sports too.  But this kid watches soccer like no other 6 year old.  He knows the rules, penalty calls, everything.  He even plays soccer on the X-Box and calls his own penalties.  So we have been trying for several years now to get him involved in soccer.  And this year is the lucky year!!!  Could it be the lucky number 13????

So here is a brief summary of the season so far.  Back in January we asked Greysen if he wanted to do soccer or baseball.  Now we know he loves baseball, so we thought for sure he would just stick to that.  But NO, he decided soccer over baseball!!  So come mid March it was time to start practice.  Bill and I took Greysen to the soccer field to meet his coach and teammates.  He was all ready to go and then we walk up to the coach and what do you think he does.  Yes you are probably guessing right, he cried.  Said he wanted to go home.  OMG we were not very happy!!  So home we went.  Later that night the coach calls to make sure Greysen and us are ok.  I talked to her for a bit explaining that I know if G just tried he would like it.  Maybe we could meet her early before the next practice to meet her.  Well unfortunately the next practice was cancelled.  So the next week I took him about 30 min early so we watched her coach the smaller kids.  Then it was time for him to practice.  Guess what he did it, the whole practice!!!  So I took him for a milk shake at McD's :D

Ok so now its game time.  Jacob's game starts at 1040am and Greysen at 11am.  Great, so now we had to split up.  Luckily I was able to zoom with  my camera and get pics of both boys.  Lucky me I got to go to Greysens game though, while Bill sat at Jacobs game.

Ok so here is the moment I know you all have been waiting for THE PICTURES!!!!!

And let me tell you there is a little sequence of pics you will see that are pretty funny, so make sure you go all the way through them!!!

So first there is Jacob, number 10.  You probably wont see many pictures of him well cause you know its only like his 13th season of soccer.  But when I am able to get up close to his game I will take more.

This is one of Greysens first of 5 goals.  He kind of rocked.  But I'm not biased or anything :D

Here he is controlling the ball

OK OK OK here it is.  The moment I told you about.  I know its not right but its funny.

So here you see a cute little girl going after the ball.  She looks very sure of herself.  And you also see Greysen going after the same ball.  Yet  you don't know what is going through Greysens mind.

Hmmmm what could Greysen possibly be thinking.   Shall we find out????

Ya I'm not sure what he was thinking is what 5 and 6 year old should be doing in soccer.  I think he may have been watching a few too many soccer games on TV.  Look at the poor girls little face!!!  And Greysen so was not going after the ball, he was planning this all along.

Anyways, after a little talking to by the coach, we go on with the game.  Once again in control of the ball. However he has his buddy with him, together they can conquer all!!

Why not nibble a little finger nail while we wait for the other team to get their act together.

Ok yes here Greysen and Aiden are again, ready to conquer all :D

Might as well walk the line during half time.  He is pretty good at that too :D

And yet another goal.  I didn't get all of them, but some I wasn't ready for since he shot them from mid field.

Ok so this was a funny too.  Greysen doing a goal kick.  He tells everyone on his team to move back, he wants to kick the ball far. So they all listen except for this kid on the other team.  As Greysen ran to the ball the kid that wasn't listening from the opposing team ran towards the ball.  Well he kind of got hit hard in the stomach with the ball.  But I guess that is what happens when you don't listen.

So basically that wraps up our day at the soccer field.  Everyone came away proud of their efforts on the field.  Jacobs team lost 6 to nothing, I know sad right, but he said he had fun.  I guess that is important, right??  Greysen was proud of his 5 goals.  And probably deep down inside he is proud of the fact he tripped a little girl and hit some boy in the stomach with the ball.  But he was happy he scored 5 times, even though the other team scored more.  But they don't keep score so its ok.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and story of the first games of 2013.

GO DRAGONS!!!  (Greysens team)

and

GO HAMMERHEADS  (Jacobs team)

More to come next weekend!!!  I promise to keep up with this seeing as we finally got Greysen on the field at the same time as other kids, on the same team, wearing the same uniform. I know its much more difficult then one should think.

Till next week!!!!!
